Rodrigo y Gabriela

This was my second time listening to them. I actually have to thank MTV for this one, they came out on a brief commercial after a reality show.
Who says, they don't play music no more?!?!?!
I was surprise at the amount of people at House of Blues and also by all the nationalities. Some spoke Spanish and the others just wanted to listen to a good Metallica cover.
Check them out:

Panteon Rococo

Last week House of Blues had the crowd dancing thanks to the killer beats of Pateon Rococo and two other great ska bands from Houston.
At exactly 8:30, with the crowd still gathering, Fuska started to jam and the folks started dancing. They are a young band full of energy with a lead singer who can’t stand still, he just wants to get it going.

The room got heated as soon as Laskaretas stepped in, with the rhytme of the drums going hard one was bound to start sweating.
Two great bands to represent that Houston sure knows how to get its music on.

With 400 people screaming for Panteon Rococo, this was bound to be a good show.
Panteon Rococo is a ska band from Mexico City that was born around 1995.
The infuse styles of punk, reggae, salsa, and cumbia are pack into an energetic sound that comes with a positive political message.
This was there 2010 Ejercito de la Paz tour, The Peace Army tour, which voices, “Stop the racism and love the music." Most of their songs deal with government abuse, the improvement of society, and in this concert the main focus was the racism that’s going on in Arizona. The audience agreed with the message as they took part of the mosh pit, guys and girls didn’t care who they where slamming to of course they would pick up anybody who fell to the ground. One was able to spot Santos, el Zapatista, and the ring of smoke inside the mosh pit as the drums and the sax made the none dancers enjoy the show.

Love

Amar, coger, y sexo son cosas muy diferentes.
Yo me enamoro de muchos, tengo sexo con pocos, y hecho el amor con dos.
Coger es no saver ni querer saver su nombre.
Eso solamente una vez.
Pero, no soy puta.

Coachella 2010

First of all I’m two shades more Mexican, my skin feels like leather and not your Louis Vuitton leather but more like that fake over priced urban outfitters. I spent 6 days away from my beautiful city on a quest to find new music to love, fresh conversations, and amazing sight seeing. MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!

It took us 25 hours and 7 gas stations to reach our Indio, California destination, 12 hours were spent trying to leave Texas. WOW, we have one hell of a big state; this would be my first time traveling in the U.S. I was excited and didn’t cared driving for so long, we had an iced chest full of water, beer, vodka, and turkey what else could we asked for?

We were able to kiss the sun rise of New Mexico and let me just say it was beautiful!

We had two border patrol stops and were able to sneak my apples to California. The lady was too lazy to look in our car and my ass had just bought the apples, OH no ma'am you are not throwing my fruit away.

Made it to Coachella, sunburn, hungry, sleepy, and half my ass numb!

We built our tent and I slept like a baby!

Here are some of the bands and art work I checked out:
